Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson admitted he was irked to concede a "soft goal" against Maritzburg United, but felt the 1-1 draw at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday was a fair result for both teams.

Dikwena took the lead through Robert Ng'ambi in the 72nd minute, but Evans Rusike levelled the scores for the Team of Choice moments later.

Johnson in the end was content with an away point against a team fighting for their lives at the bottom of the table.

"When we play against a team like this, we knew it was going to be hard," Johnson told KickOff.

"When you look at their last three games, we always knew it was going to be a fight, especially when you look at how they lost to Kaizer Chiefs.

"In the end I thought they put a lot of pressure on us, but we were able to soak that up and come out. The goal we conceded, I thought, was a soft goal - you can't allow Kurt Lentjies to turn on you like that.

"But credit to us as well, we go away with one point against a team that's fighting relegation and always difficult to play against. It's good for us, and we hope to put out a better performance next time."
