A frustrated Josef Zinnbauer on Wednesday said his Orlando Pirates side need to be more clinical in front of goal to kill off games after they allowed SuperSport United to clinch a 1-1 draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
A Ben Motshwari own goal cancelled out a first-half opener by winger Vincent Pule as the Buccaneers were held despite dominating for large parts of the contest, especially the first-half.
Speaking after the final whistle, Zinnbauer said that his side would need to improve their ruthlessness if they are to beat good sides such as SuperSport United.
"You have to score earlier," Zinnbauer told SuperSport TV post-match. "If we had scored a second goal then we'd have killed the game as a contest.
"Then things are much easier for us, we had lots of good transitions in attack but we are not calm enough in the final third to take advantage of this.
"This is the problem when you are aiming to beat a very good side such as SuperSport who are second on the log.
"We had a feeling for the second goal but we didn't score and this is the problem.
"You cannot win when you have chances, but you don't score."
Pirates next travel to Maritzburg United in a Round of 16 Nedbank Cup clash on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
