Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Michelle Katsvairo says he has been working on his finishing in training in a bid to end a worrying goal drought.

Katsvairo, who joined Amakhosi earlier this year from Chicken Inn, has only found the net once in eleven appearances, despite scoring freely in the Zimbabwean Premier League last season.

However, the 26-year old Zimbabwean refuses to let his current predicament get him down, having experienced a similar lean spell before.

"We've been working very hard trying to rectify our mistakes," he told KickOff. "As a striker I have not been scoring much so I've been working on that aspect.

"(Having) a goal drought, it is everywhere. Last year when I was at Chicken Inn that thing [a goal drought] happened to me again."

He added: "As a player you will always have pressure. Pressure from yourself because you set yourself goals. Pressure from the fans and also pressure from the coach because we need results."

Katsvairo's struggles in front of goal have been mirrored by Chiefs' form, with Steve Komphela's men languishing down in seventh place after picking up three points from their last five league fixtures.

The forward is confident Chiefs will soon turn the corner, though, putting their recent results down to bad luck.

"He's a good coach and he has done nothing wrong. This is a bad patch and it will pass. All we need is some luck, we are doing almost everything right," he explained.

"It's bad luck or something, I just hope and pray that this bad patch will pass on quickly."

Up next for Amakhosi is a Premiership clash with Bloemfontein Celtic at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
