Cape Town - Bidvest Wits midfielder Daine Klate is relishing the second-half of the season which will have fewer breaks than the first-half, which broke many teams' momentum.

Despite the stop-start nature of this campaign the Milpark outfit did well to finish the first half in second place, tied on points with first placed Mamelodi Sundowns where they are separated only by goal difference.

Wits will look to change that when they take on Chippa United in Klate's hometown of Port Elizabeth on Sunday, January 10 in a season where the midfielder is chasing his sixth Premiership title.

He is currently the club's leading marksman with six goals in the PSL.

"It's good for us," Klate told Vodacom Soccer.

"Every player wants to be always playing, with all the breaks in between it disturbed our momentum.

"We had to keep focus and kept training, a lot of training which players don't really like. We prefer more games than training.

"In pre-season you train so much, with these breaks it felt like we had a number of pre-seasons. It was frustrating. But we have a job to do.

"So far things are going well for us despite all the breaks. We are joint-top with Sundowns and want to keep staying at the top as long we can."

Kick-off is at 15:30.
