Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela admitted he was not happy with how his first six months in charge of Amakhosi have gone after already losing two cup finals.

Komphela was brought in to replace Stuart Baxter at the start of the season after impressing during his time in charge of Martizburg United and has led the Glamour Boys to fourth place in the Absa Premiership standings.

The coach also led his side to the final of both the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout competitions.

However, he is well aware making it to a final and not winning is not good enough for the club or its fans.

"I can't be happy," Komphela told KickOff. "Wins at a team like Chiefs are more like processing goals towards the main objective.

"You can go to 50 cup finals: If you don't bring any home, it's as good as merely playing up until then. We been through two in three months. Are you happy Steve? No, I'm not."

Chiefs ended 2015 in a positive fashion, claiming a 2-1 win over in-form Bidvest Wits, who top the Premiership table, but Komphela still was not satisfied.

"Are you happy with the result against Wits? No, it's ok, we are comfortable, there's something, but we can only be happy after 30 rounds of Premiership matches, and again winning the Premiership," he added.

"Unfortunately that's how it goes. Winning and winning is not enough, but what is more important where we are is lifting trophies."
