Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has admitted he needs to find a solution to his side's goal-scoring woes following Tuesday's bitterly disappointing 1-0 defeat to Jomo Cosmos.

Amakhosi dominated the encounter in terms of ball possession and chances created, but were ultimately made to pay for their wastefulness in front of goal as Mxolisi Macuphu's 85th-minute stunner fired Cosmos to a surprise win.

Komphela was happy with the amount of chances his side created, but was understandably less than satisfied with their showing in front of goal.

"I am happy about the numerous chances we created," Komphela told the club's website.

"However, we have to figure out what we are not getting right when it comes to finishing.

"We had more entries into the Cosmos box. They only had one shot at goal and that was it. Independent of how hard we tried, it probably wasn't meant to be."

He added: "There was a question of anxiety, we rushed it a bit."

Looking ahead to Saturday's crunch CAF Champions League second-leg tie against ASEC Mimosas, Komphela feels his charges still have a good chance of progressing to the next round, provided they grab an early goal to level the scores.

The Ivorians hold a 1-0 advantage from the first-leg, which took place at the FNB Stadium at the weekend.

"We have to go to Abidjan, get an early goal and we are equal," Komphela said.

"We are still in a position to progress to the next round."
