Cape Town - Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi believes the club will win silverware in the new season under the guidance of Milutin Sredojevic and his assistant Rhulani Mokwena

Lekgwathi was the last captain of the Sea Robbers to lift a trophy when he hoisted aloft the Nedbank Cup after a victory against Bidvest Wits in 2014.

It proved to be the 41 year old's last honour with Bucs as he retired the next season after the first game of the 2015/16 campaign.

Nonetheless, despite a trophy drought which extends back to that point in time, 'Phinda Mzala' takes the view that Sredojevic and Mokwena can bring success to Mayfair.

Reminiscing about his last cup triumph before the murder of goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, he said: "I'm feeling sad about that.

"Before Senzo Meyiwa passed away (in 2014) I said to him, I'll give him my blessings and unfortunately God took him.

"But you know what, the way they played this past season, I think this coming season they are going to win something under the guidance of Micho and Rhulani Mokwena."
