Cape Town - Defending Absa Premiership champions Wits have signed Lehlohonolo Majoro, who has just been released by Cape Town City.

The Citizens issued a statement saying that had decided to allow Majoro to terminate his contract six months early and had 'decided to support him to find a new club where he can extend his career for a few more years and get more game time'.

Now, according to IOL website later on Wednesday morning, Majoro has already found a new home - with the Johannesburg-based Wits.

"He will join us in January," a club source was quoted saying.

The 31-year-old Majoro featured in 12 matches for City this season, scoring three goals, but he has not played in their seven most recent games.

The former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs forward netted seven league goals in 20 matches last season for City.

His best goal haul was 2010/11, when he scored 14 times in 27 league matches for AmaZulu.

Wits are currently propping up the standings after winning only two of 14 league matches this term, losing half their games and scoring only seven goals.
