Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs striker Edward Manqele admits that Mamelodi Sundowns might be on a role at the moment, but is not giving up hope of catching his former club.

Pitso Mosimane's men have gone 15 matches unbeaten in the Absa Premiership, and the last time they lost was against Golden Arrows back in September.

The ex-Free State Stars frontman Manqele, who previously had an unfruitful time at Chloorlop before joining Chippa United, inisists the champions are not yet ready to throw in the towel.

"Look, let me just say Sundowns are on form now," he said with smile.

"They are doing well but the Premiership is marathon and you never know what will happened in the next few games left."

Manqele, who was registered in Chiefs' CAF Champions League squad, has battled for game time since he moved to Naturena. The 28-year-old says he is hoping at some point he will win a trophy.

"Unfortunately I haven't won anything in the PSL," he adds. "But I'm hoping to win something because there is Nedbank Cup coming up and hopeful we can win it."

Manqele has scored only once this season and has played seven out of 19 league games.
