Cape Town - Well-traveled striker Edward Manqele believes Chippa United owe him up to a month's salary after leaving the club at the end of 2017/18.

The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns forward claims that Chippa chairman Siviwe Mpengesi has not been available to take his requests why he has not been paid his wages.

Last January Manqele left Free State Stars to join the Chilli Boys but after exiting the club in uncertain circumstances, he says he is now owed outstanding monies.

Speaking to KickOff website, the 31-year-old said: "Chippa owes me a June salary. I sent him a text now, he reads, then blocked me. And it's not only me, he still owes some guy sign-on fee.

"I'm training on my own now, but got something somewhere, not local, Cyprus. (I) might go next week. (I) will confirm once everything is finalised.

"Hai, these people don't exactly give you a straight answer. Last I called their office in Cape Town, then I'm told they are still waiting for funds...chairman says month-end, like you don't know which to believe. Even some players are owed sign-on fees."
