Cape Town - Maritzburg United are set to confirm the signing of former Wits midfielder Daylon Claasen.

Claasen spent a relatively unproductive spell with the Clever Boys from 2017 until 2019 where he scored just one goal in 32 Premiership appearances.

The Team of Choice have already made a number of additions to their squad as they have signed midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase.

Coach Eric Tinkler is seemingly intent on replacing the influential pair of Siphesihle Ndlovu and Fortune Makaringe, who left to join Orlando Pirates.

A source told KickOff: "He is as good as a Maritzburg United player now. He will be unveiled very soon."

Meanwhile, playmaker Keagan Buchanan is back from injury and adds options for Tinkler's men.
