Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids has confirmed the club will not sell any of their young star performers to Absa Premiership sides, but will open the door to move to Europe if the right offer comes in.

The Team of Choice are enjoying a stellar season under Davids and currently occupy fourth position in South Africa's top-flight, despite being a team that traditionally has battled relegation year in and year out.

In addition, the outfit from Pietermaritzburg have a Nedbank Cup semi-final to look forward to against Mamelodi Sundowns, and appear to have every chance of landing some silverware in 2017/18.

Nonetheless, with a host of young players who have caught the eye including Lebogang Maboe‚ Fortune Makaringe‚ Siphesihle Ndlovu and Bandile Shandu, Davids says he has the backing of United chairman Farouk Kadodia in that none will be sold to PSL teams.

"My main thing is‚ and the chairman has got it‚ that nobody will leave at the end of the season unless it's a European offer," he told reporters.

"But no-one locally for Ndlovu‚ Maboe‚ all these guys who are on the market of these clubs.

"So that's a good thing and that's what really makes me excited for next season‚ to be able to improve this team and take it to the next level.

"Locally definitely not. I have had discussions with these players individually in meetings.

"They agree. They have the ambition to go to Europe and it’s our job as a club to help them get there."
