Cape Town - Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha believes his side can recover from a slow start to the 2018/19 season and begin to become more competitive.

Leopards have struggled in their return to South Africa's top flight as they have picked up just five points from six matches, and currently are bottom of the Premiership standings.

In addition, Lidoda Duvha were mauled 4-0 by SuperSport United last weekend at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.

The side from Limpopo won promotion from the National First Division in 2017/18, but appear to be struggling with the demands of the PSL.

Nonetheless, Masutha has revealed he is not overly concerned about the situation. He told KickOff: "I am not pressing panic buttons. I have played football. We've lost games.

"Sometimes we played eight games without a win but ended up starting to win again and being in a comfortable position.

"I am not panicking. I believe in these boys. I believe we will regroup, rectify our mistakes and come back strong."

Leopards next host local rivals Baroka at Thohoyandou Stadium on October 3 in the league.
