AmaZulu are hopeful that they will be able to retain the services of captain Siyabonga Mbatha with Orlando Pirates and Highlands Park showing interest.
The Usuthu goalkeeper has been a reliable pair of hands for the KwaZulu-Natal outfit this season despite their struggles in the Absa Premiership.
Mbatha's future at the club is uncertain as his current contract is due to expire at the end of June, but AmaZulu have revealed that they are in talks over a new deal.
"Yes, as you said it true his contract is coming to an end in June and the player and the team are in negotiations for a new contract," AmaZulu media officer Nhlanhla Mkhathini told Far Post.
"Yes, there are things we are looking at and it is looking positive.
"For now, I can't say it's for how many years or how long, but the negotiations are going on."
