Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic has insisted he is not prepared to lose the versatile Abbubaker Mobara to struggling league champions Wits.

Recent speculation has linked Mobara with the Students, in a swap deal involving Xola Mlambo, but Sredojevic has rubbished this.

According to SowetanLive website, Mobara was subject to speculation in this window as Wits coach Gavin Hunt looked for a utility player as they try to climb out of the relegation dogfight.

"Mobara is deputy captain in the team and he's important for us," was all Sredojevic told the publication when quizzed about

Mobara was central to the Buccaneers' impressive 3-1 victory over league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The 23-year-old joined Pirates at the beginning of last season and, despite the club's poor form in his first campaign, Mobara did enough to impress fans, who called for him to be given the captain's armband.

The captaincy was, however, given to Thabo Matlaba, and Mobara was made the deputy captain to highlight his importance to the club.
