Cape Town - SuperSport United midfielder Michael Morton firmly believes that their performances and form will pick up in the next few fixtures and they'll start climbing the Premiership standings.

SuperSport have not had the best of seasons so far and 2016 hasn't got off to the best of starts with them losing their last two games to Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City respectively.

The club has since then parted way with Gordon Igesund and replaced him with former Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter in the hopes that their fortunes will turn around.

"SuperSport as a club, we've been struggling and sort of battling for consistency and I think if we get together a number of results things can change, it's up today and down the next day." said Morton.

"Yes the guys are a bit down especially after the two losses and we'll need our supporters to stand behind us as a team."

"We had a horrible game against Polokwane, we tried our best against Sundowns and we came short. I think we all need to pull towards the same direction and things will get better."

Morton has been particularly impressed with new signing Mark Mayambela and has praised the impact he has made.

"I think in his first game, he came and made a massive impact because his thought is always going forward."

"His aim is to beat a man and when you have someone like that, it gives us a positive hope that something will happen and I believe he will be a great addition in the team."

SuperSport will be looking to change their fortunes when they face Free State Stars at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
