Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane applauded his team's progression to the MTN8 final after their 1-0 victory over Chippa United on Wednesday.

The Brazilians have been juggling participation on three fronts in the Premiership, MTN8 and CAF Champions League with little reprieve over the last two weeks.

Their congested schedule saw them travel to Zambia for a 2-1 loss to Zesco United in the Champions League semi-final first-leg on Saturday before returning for their clash against the Chilli Boys.

"What a good team Chippa is, they can play with four number 10s in front of the back four and have good inter-passing," Mosimane told SuperSport.

"We have been underdogs the entire week. But football is about goals, and if you want to go into the final you have to score goals.

"And we are used to this space of playing in semi-finals and games on the edge. It's not about showing off and playing nice, it's about getting to the final and doing the business.

"I had to put in a three man midfield and, Sibusiso Vilakazi showed the quality he has, it's unbelievable. Look at the pass he gave to Laffor, he is quality, it's worth spending money on such players."

The Premier Soccer League together with sponsors, MTN have announced that the Mbombela Stadium will host the 2016/17 MTN8 final on Saturday, October 1.

Sundowns will face Bidvest Wits, who brushed aside Cape Town City FC in the semi-final.

The match will kick-off at 17:00.
