Durban - Lamontville Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa reckons that the 2016/17 Premiership campaign was a triumphant one for Abafanabesthende.

The KwaZulu-Natal club ended their PSL season with a top eight finish while also reaching the Nedbank Cup semi-finals which they lost to Orlando Pirates.

Arrows snatched the eighth spot on the log following their 2-1 victory over the Buccaneers at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last weekend thanks to Mutizwa and Lerato Lamola strikes.

The Zimbabwean international forward has extended the praise to his hard working team-mates and head coach Clinton Larsen.

"We have had a great season as a team," Mutizwa said.

"We have managed to reach the Nedbank cup semi-finals and that was a massive achievement for us.

"Now we have also finished the season inside the to eight. I thank God for that.

"Not forgetting my team-mates and the coach for a job well done.

"The season we had was so great."
