Cape Town - Brazilian centre-back Ricardo Nascimento has resumed training with Mamelodi Sundowns but is not cleared to play until 2018, due to the foreigner rule restrictions.

After previously parting ways with the 30-year-old due to a long term injury, it has now been confirmed he has signed terms on a new deal to come into affect in January.

Soccer Laduma website report that the defender has returned to full training but he will need to wait until the January transfer window before being registered by the Chloorkop-based outfit.

However, a foreigner has to be released for his inclusion which suggests that out out form Leonardo Castro could potentially be facing the axe.

The four remaining foreigners of the five allocation - Bangaly Soumahoro, Fares Hachi, Yannick Zakri and Brimah Razak - are all regular starters in the first team.

After a prolific start to his career with Downs, the Colombian striker has struggled for goals and it appears his time is up in Tshwane.
