Cape Town - Botswana international Mogakolodi Ngele is expected to return from injury for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premiership this coming weekend.

The 25-year-old forward moved to Sundowns from Platinum stars at the beginning of the season, making only three appearances in the Premiership and is yet to score a goal.

Ngele will probably have to start on the bench away to Free State Stars on Sunday as competition for places in the starting line-up at Sundowns heats up.

Coach Pitso Mosimane has hardly changed his starting 11 so far this season, as the Brazilians are enjoying a five-point lead at the top of the standings, with a 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Mamelodi Sundowns begin their African Champions League journey next week, when they travel to Zimbabwe to face Chicken Inn FC, and Mosimane believes that resting key players is important.

"We need the legs and we have had to save these players and pull them," the Brazilians boss said.

"If I could have made four or five substitutes I would have taken out Leonardo Castro and Thabo Nthethe too. Thabo's age must be considered and Leo has been battling with a calf injury."
