Cape Town - Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Kenny Niemach believes Edward Manqele deserves to be given a chance to lead Amakhosi's attack.

Manqele has spent more time on the bench this season than on the field. Chiefs have been hit by a drought in front of goal, having only scored two goals in their last six games.

Amakhosi will also be looking for their first win in seven games against Ajax Cape Town on Saturday.

"I think he can make a change after his substitute appearance on Wednesday night," Niemach told Goal website.

"For me he is a good talent and is surely trying to find what he did wrong not to have been playing regularly since arriving at Chiefs so that he can react to it in a different way.

"I feel this is the right time for the coach to play him regular with the other strikers having failed to find the back of the net regularly."

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs welcome Ajax Cape Town to the FNB Stadium on Saturday in an Absa Premiership encounter.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
