Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung says the club is not about to make any rash decisions on the future of head coach Steve Komphela.

Komphela lost his second cup final in the space of a few months when Chiefs went down 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout on Wednesday night.

This followed the 1-0 defeat to Ajax Cape Town in the MTN8 final, back in September.

But with Komphela in his first season at the club, Motaung has called for patience as some sections of the club's support grow restless about the coach's failure to bring home silverware.

"No one should be blamed for our loss, but it is a fact that we missed two penalties and several one-on-one opportunities. It's not the coach who missed those chances," Motaung told The Sowetan.

"It hurts that we lost, but Sundowns took their chances and that's how football works.

"At the end of the day one team had to lose, and unfortunately it was us. We can't react with emotions to this situation. We are not running a circus here, where we would dismiss the coach based on a loss in the final.

"We will sit at the end of the season and review the performance of everyone, including the coach."
