Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has once again questioned the quality of officiating in South Africa following the 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby on Saturday.

Komphela bemoaned the lack of professionalism displayed by the referees following an on the field misunderstanding.

The draw did not help the under-fire tactician with the defending champions faltering and having accumulated the most draws in the league (eight).

"It's a big match. Maybe at some stage we shall be forced by circumstances to invite international officials. Officials can never be above the game," said Komphela.

"We are all participants and we expect the same in everything. Not thinking, not judgement, just a game to go home.

"I strongly believe nobody should be above the game...At the end of the match, I tried extending a hand to the first assistant referee who was running just alongside our bench and he refused it."
