Cape Town - Riyaad Norodien is determined to recapture his best form at Cape Town City after helping the club win their first silverware with the MTN8 title a fortnight ago.

The Ajax Cape Town youth product returned to his hometown during the off-season when he joined the Citizens on a five-year contract from Orlando Pirates.

Norodien was snapped up by the Buccaneers in 2016 on the back of an impressive debut season in the Premiership with the Urban Warriors.

However, he struggled to make an impact at Mayfair and was loaned out to Platinum Stars for the 2017/18 campaign, which put him back on the map in South African football.

The 23-year-old midfielder scored three goals in 10 league appearances for Dikwena, although they were eventually relegated despite his exploits.

Asked if he viewed the move to City as a chance to get his career back on track, Norodien told KickOff website: "Definitely.

"I just have to keep working hard being in the team and make my mark like at Ajax, which was why Pirates signed me.

"Also I have to show what I did at Platinum Stars and do it here also. Like they say, the season is still young so everything comes with time.

"You have to believe in yourself and the performance comes naturally on its own."
