Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has challenged the Brazilians to make finishing the year on top of the Absa Premiership their number one priority.

Pitso Mosimane's side have had a slow start to the 2018/19 season and have registered just two victories from seven matches in the league.

The lanky goal-minder wants his team to be ruthless starting with their Saturday's clash with Chippa United.

“We need to move up the log. We need to make sure that we win our games in hand and for us to move up, we need to win these games in hand,” Onyango said, as quoted by KickOff website.

“We need to finish off the year either on top of the log or number two. So, we need to work harder, because the Champions League is going to start next month, and we have the Telkom Knockout, so we need to collect as many points in the league as possible.

“I'd love to see us scoring more goals, but as I say things are harder for us because everyone wants to do well against the defending champions.”

Sundowns are currently eighth on the Premiership standings with 11 points from seven games.
