Cape Town - Orlando Pirates starlet Lyle Foster has reportedly signed a five-year deal with Monaco which is set to begin in January 2019.

The French Ligue 1 giants have been monitoring the player for some time and the 18-year-old also recently returned to South Africa from a trial with the side.

He is said to have made a big impression on the coaching staff during that period, and the promising teenager is said to have been rewarded with a lucrative five-year deal.

A source told Soccer Laduma website: "Foster has signed with AS Monaco. It's a five-year deal.

"The agreement is that he will leave in January for the club. For now, he has been given time to come back to South Africa to finish the year before he leaves in January."

Foster played for Bucs' MultiChoice Diski Challenge team this past weekend although they were defeated 2-1 by Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.
