Cape Town - The South African Premier Soccer League has revealed plans to finalise and pay out Senzo Meyiwa's life cover insurance money next week.

In November last year, the PSL confirmed that the deceased goalkeeper's insurance payout, which is estimated to be around R5 million, had been received.

After a long process which took close to a year and a half since Meyiwa's death, the league chairman, Dr Irvin Khoza, was pleased to announce that the matter would finally be put to rest and that they have been in contact with the family of the former Bafana Bafana gloveman.

"Next week we will be calling the family for the last time to deal with the issue of Senzo's insurance from the PSL," said Khoza on Thursday.

"I spoke to the father and we have booked flight tickets to make sure the family is available next week. Meyiwa's partner, Mandisa, will be part of that meeting.

"We want to close this chapter on the issue around the insurance policy of Senzo Meyiwa."
