Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala believes the defending PSL champions will bounce back in the second-half of the season.

Amakhosi had a difficult first half of the season after unconvincing performances in the league and losing the MTN8 and Telkom Knockout finals.

Tshabalala insists that Chiefs will play like the champions they are against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium on Sunday.

"The past weekend we kick-started our new year with a draw against Mamelodi Sundowns. What a way to get back to work," Tshabalala said on his website.

"It was a game we have been preparing for during the holidays and may I add that it was not an easy task. We wanted positive results but at the end of the day it was not to be as we could not finish our created chances.

"Such is football yet we have our heads held up and continue to learn as we go. The plan is always to take it a game at a time and make sure that we put effort in all that we do.

"Unlucky to the guys and we do know that our supporters deserve better but we have faith in the hard work that we put it. All will come right sooner than later."
