Sifiso Hlanti welcomed the chance to join Swallows FC and stay close to home after being unable to join Kaizer Chiefs.
The former Bidvest Wits midfielder was training with Amakhosi with a view to signing for the 2019/20 Premiership runners-up.
An appeal against a FIFA transfer ban was dismissed, however, meaning Hlanti had to move on once again.
The 30-year-old defender was quickly snapped up by the recently promoted Swallows on a two-year deal, to add to their already impressive squad.
Hlanti told SAFM: "I was welcomed very well by everyone when I joined Swallows
"I joined Chiefs because coach Gavin [Hunt] said to me 'I think it's best for you to train than to stay at home so you can keep yourself fit."
"I have signed a two-year deal with Swallows FC with an option to renew. I chose Swallows because I have other interests in Gauteng and that's why I decided to remain in the Province," he added.
"There is no arrangement [that I will sign Chiefs when they are able to sign players again]. What people are saying are just rumours."
