Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas insists that the club must return to winning ways ahead of their Absa Premiership clash with Black Leopards at FNB Stadium.

Chiefs come into the contest having beaten SuperSport United 1-0 in a Telkom Knockout quarter-final last weekend, however, have not won in the league since the end of September against AmaZulu.

It could be a tough contest for the Glamour Boys as they needed penalties to overcome Leopards the last time they met in a TKO Round-of-16 clash on 21 October.

Solinas' charges are in seventh position with 14 points from 11 matches and trail leaders Orlando Pirates by eight points in the race for the title.

As such, the Italian insists that beating Lidoda Duvha is critical. He told reporters: "We need to focus on this next game [against Black Leopards], we had no time to recover [after Sunday's game against SuperSport].

"But the position of Kaizer Chiefs is not good, so we need to win this game because we need to improve our position on the log. We are Kaizer Chiefs, we play to win."

Wednesday night's action is set to get underway from 19:30 in Johannesburg.
