Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos boss Jomo Sono is not too concerned about his side's current predicament, saying it is too early to start talking about the threat of relegation.

Cosmos currently occupy 14th place in the Absa Premiership standings, having picked up nine points from their opening 14 matches of the campaign.

Their most recent result, a 2-1 loss to Ajax Cape Town last weekend, marked their eighth defeat of the season, leaving them just two points clear of bottom-of-the-table Maritzburg United.

Despite all of this, though, Sono is refusing to panic and is confident that his side can turn things around in 2016.

"Our current position is worrying but why jump the gun and talk relegation? We cry, wipe tears and look into the future," he was quoted as saying by Sowetan Live.

"Just because Cosmos suffered its eighth loss does not automatically warrant that I throw my hands in the air and say that's it. Look at what Maritzburg United did to Orlando Pirates over the weekend [a 3-3 draw].

"It will take only two wins to change the misconception regarding Cosmos."
