Cape Town - Free State Stars boss Rantsi Mokoena has stated in no uncertain terms that the club is not for sale, following talk of a takeover bid from Royal Eagles.

According to the Sowetan, Durban-based National First Division (NFD) club Royal Eagles are planning to purchase Free State Stars' Premier Soccer League status.

Eagles have spent heavily in the transfer market over the past few years.

But despite bringing in the likes of former PSL stars such as Katlego Mphela and Raymond Monama, among others, as well as former Orlando Pirates head coach Kosta Papic, they have fallen just short of making the promotion playoffs.

However, Stars, who were also linked to a takeover bid by Moroka Swallows last year, are definitely not looking to sell, says their boss.

And according to Mokoena, they are in the process of planning for next season's top flight campaign.

"The last people who have spoken to us with a view of trying to buy the club was Panyaza Lesufi and that was last year‚" he said.

"I have never spoken to anyone regarding the buying of the club and I am currently working on player movements in preparation for next season.

"We are not selling this club and one of the things that we are going to do in the coming days is to have a proper review of the season which includes whether the coach (Serame Letsoaka) will be staying or not."
