State Stars have confirmed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs striker,
Siphelele Mthembu, after a trial period at the club concluded
It has been reported previously that the powerful forward was on the verge of joining Stars, and now it has been made clear his immediate future will rest in the colours of Ea Lla Koto.
The striker, who has played for both Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, has reportedly penned a one-year deal with the club and could be set to face AmaZulu in the opening game of the Premiership season.
The 30-year-old spent three seasons with the Glamour Boys but struggled to break into the starting line-up on a regular basis, however, it seems he will now have the chance to rediscover his top form in South Africa's elite.
Aside from his failed Chiefs' spell, the KwaZulu-Natal native is a proven goalscorer in the Premiership after having hit plenty of goals during his time at Platinum Stars in 2012/13 and 2013/14 as well.
Stars travel to the King Zwelithini Stadium to face the newly-promoted Amazulu in on Saturday.
Kick off is at 15:00.
