Cape Town - AmaZulu have ended their pursuit of Free State Stars striker Mohammed Anas but will continue to search for additional firepower.

The Durban team are on a run of six matches without a win in the league and have slipped down to 13th, just two points above the drop zone.

Rhulani Manzini has netted five goals for the club this season, while veteran marksmen Mabuthi Khenyeza and Siyabonga Nomvethe have contributed a combined three.

AmaZulu team manager Qedi Dlamini says that Usuthu had been hoping to lure Stars striker Anas to the club, but will now turn their attention to other targets after failing to land the Ghana-born attacker, who has netted three times in the league this season.

"We wanted to sign Anas. He is one of the top strikers but his demands were too high and we couldn't agree with his club. We are now talking with another striker whose name I can't mention now.

"Maybe if you speak to me next week I will be in a better position to give you the name," Dlamini told the Sunday Tribune.
