Cape Town - Mamelodi
Sundowns have reportedly rebuffed advances from unnamed clubs in
Albania and Egypt for the services of forward Leonardo Castro.
The Colombian striker was hugely influential in Sundowns' 2015/16 title success and also played a major role in helping the club win the CAF Champions League recently.
It perhaps then comes as no surprise that the 27-year-old is such a wanted man from some top clubs abroad. The Bogota-born star has fired in 14 goals in total for the Brazilians.
Nonetheless, the player's agent, Joao Betancourt, confirmed that offers had been turned down by Masandawana's management.
He told Soccer Laduma: "A player like Castro is probably the target for many clubs, but at the moment we've only had offers from Egypt and Albania.
"Those offers were turned down by Sundowns, as Leo still has one more year with the club and finishes his contract in June 2018."
The player recently returned to action for the Pitso Mosimane-coached outfit after recovering from a serious ankle injury he had earlier picked up.
