Cape Town - Baroka FC co-coach Kgoloko Thobejane expressed his disappointment as his team were held to a 1-1 against Stellenbosch FC at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

"We should have owned the game. It was bad," said Thobejane.

"If you look at the second (goal) for instance, the defence didn’t go with the runner.

"We were late and the keeper was caught off guard. But it’s a game of football, one point is better than nothing.

"So let’s go to the second game and we’ll see."

Baroka led twice in the match, first in the 39th minute through Shaku Dineo’s goal.

Stellenbosch's Jarrod Moroole equalised a minute before the half-time break and the teams were locked at 1-1 as they walked towards the tunnel at half-time.

The second stanza saw Baroka grabbing the lead again and this time through Nkosinathi Ndlovu.

The lead barely lasted for nine minutes when David Booysen’s header ruined Thobejane’s best plans of a win against the Cape based side.

Baroka have Black Leopards next at home next Wednesday at Peter Mokaba Stadium, while Stellenbosch will be away to Black Leopards on Saturday.
