Cape Town – Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler believes that his side could have killed the game off in the first-half against Free State Stars.

The Buccaneers suffered a 1-0 defeat at Goble Park courtesy of an 80th minute Ayanda Nkosi goal at near post.

“We started well in the first half, I think we should have killed this game off before half-time - we could have been at least 3-0 up,” said Tinkler as quoted by KickOff.

Lehlohonolo Majoro came agonisingly close to scoring an equaliser moments later, but his shot was cleared off the line by Paulos Masehe to secure the points for the home side.

“Our second-half performance was simply not good enough and a lapse of concentration lead to us getting caught.

“It was shocking, really, to be honest. Up front we create chances but we not putting it in the back of the net, and that changes the whole outcome of the game.”
