Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates rising star Excellent Walaza has urged Thabo Qalinge to leave the Soweto giants.

Since joining Pirates from Mpumalanga Black Aces last season, Qalinge has gone from pivotal key player to a regular benchwarmer.

Last season Qalinge made only five starts for the Buccaneers this season has been worse with only one appearance made as a substitute.

Walaza, whose career also went on a downward spiral at Pirates, advised Qalinge to look for a new club.

"Yes, I think he should try and leave Pirates in the January transfer window. I know it is not nice being on the sidelines and also to watch your team-mates in action week in and week out," Walaza told Goal website.

"It is really frustrating. So, I think it will be better for him to leave even if it is for the next six months.

"I think he has the potential, but he is frustrated at this stage so they must let him go to get his mind right at another club.

"By the time he comes back from a loan spell then he will be ready to fight for his place at Pirates."
