Johannesburg - SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams refused to take all the credit after his heroics in a penalty shoot-out earned his team a place in the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout.

Matsatsantsa edged Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 in a penalty shootout at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

The former three-time Premiership champions managed to hold the defending champions after they were reduced to 10-men when Onismor Bhasera received a red-card in the 60th minute.

"I hear people talk about that I'm a penalty specialist but I'm only doing my job as a keeper," Williams told KickOff.

"If you think it was tough for me, spare a thought for the players who had to battle it out with 10 men against a formidable team like Sundowns. They aren't the African champions for nothing, you know.

"I've drawn inspiration from my team-mates for the way they've been plugging away in the game. It wasn't easy but I could see them battling out and putting their bodies on the line.

"The players showed an abundance of character. And when you win matches in this fashion where you have to battle is very rewarding - I'm over the moon with our efforts."
