Cape Town - Bidvest Wits will look to get their Absa Premiership title hunt back on track when they host Polokwane City at Bidvest Stadium.

Wits suffered a second loss in the space of three matches when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Black Aces on January 15.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 16 points from seven home matches this season.

The Clever Boys are placed third on the Absa Premiership log with 29 points from 14 matches.

Polokwane returned to winning form with their biggest victory of the season, defeating SuperSport United 4-1 at home on January 16.

The Limpopo side has claimed four points from eight away matches this season.

Rise and Shine are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 15 points from 14 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Wits and Polokwane have met in four league matches since 2013/14.

The teams have a dead-even record, with one win apiece, two draws and four goals scored each.

Wits have yet to win at home to Polokwane in the league, having recorded a draw and a loss from two matches as hosts.

Last season Rise and Shine took four points off the Clever Boys, winning 2-0 in Johannesburg before playing out a 1-1 draw in the return game.

Polokwane’s Tlolane scored both home and away against Wits last season.

Kick-off is at 20:00 on January 22.
