Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer reveals that his charges are nowhere near challenging log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns for DStv Premiership title honours.
The Buccaneers have moved within four points of Masandawana (36 points) after beating Bloemfontein Celtic on Tuesday evening.
The victory shifted the Sea Robbers into third position (32 points), a point less than second place SuperSport United (33 points).
However, Pirates have played 19 matches compared to Sundowns’ 16 league outings due to the Brazilians' commitments in the CAF Champions League.
Speaking to SuperSport TV after Tuesday night's match, Zinnbauer refused to believe that Pirates are now title contenders.
“We don’t have enough points. We can’t talk about the title, it’s not possible at the moment,” he said.
“We look from game to game. We have to see what happen in the next games. I don’t know what the results are today.
“When we come closer, we can talk about it but at the moment we cannot talk about points for titles.”
The Buccaneers will face Chippa United next on Saturday.
