Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Eric Ramasike has urged Themba Zwane to follow Bongani Zungu's example by adding consistency to his game.

The Downs academy graduate has long been considered as one of the most technically-gifted playmakers in the country, but struggled to cement his spot in their line-up until a successful loan move to Mpumalanga Black Aces, where he flourished under the tutelage of Clive Barker.

Since returning to Chloorkop, Zwane has become a regular in Pitso Mosimane's squad, but Ramasike believes the 26-year-old still lacks the composure and bravery of the likes of Zungu to be considered a top player in the Premiership.

"I think Zungu is a bit brave and was never intimidated by big-name players when he arrived at Sundowns," the 44-year old told Goal website.

"He also showed that in the field of play, that is why he settled so quickly to become a top player in the PSL.

"Another factor is that he is now a regular for Bafana Bafana so Zwane must first work on being a regular for Sundowns - then maybe he can be his own man before we can see him as a replacement for a player who did not need a lot of time to prove himself at the highest level.

"To make it big at Sundowns, a players needs to be brave like Zungu and prove himself because the club is blessed with quality all round."
