Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have been drawn against Asec Mimosas of Ivory Coast in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Chiefs "dropped" into this competition after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League by AS Vita last weekend, 3-2 on aggregate.

According to the KickOff website, at the draw in Cairo on Tuesday morning, 16 seeded and unseeded clubs both from earlier rounds of the Confederation Cup and from those that were knocked out of the CAF Champions League were drawn against each other.

The eight winners of the playoff matches will go into the CAF Confederation Cup last eight group stages, consisting of two groups.

The first leg of the tie will be held on the weekend of the April 18-20 in SA, before Chiefs will travel to the Ivory Coast a week later between April 25-27.
