Bucs legends back Pirates

Johannesburg - The old guard of Orlando Pirates have tipped the Buccaneers to get one over the lofty Mamelodi Sundowns in arguably the most anticipated Nedbank Cup tie of the weekend.

According to the Soccer Laduma.com website, the Legends all agree that the form books favour the Tshwane outfit to routinely do away with Pirates and progress to the semi- final stages and meet Kaizer Chiefs in a rematch (which would be to the joy of the sponsors).

Former Bucs defender, Gavin Lane, admitted that things have not gone well for the Soweto giants this season. “What Pirates achieved especially in Africa was tremendous, but it’s unfortunate that clubs and coaches have to go separate ways” said the retired veteran.

Another of the Bucs legend, Helman Mkhalele, told the Siya crew that players will need to start playing like they want it if they are to stand a chance against Sundowns.

“The Pirates players will have to start playing like they deserve to be part of a club as prestigious as Pirates, instead of taking their jerseys for granted” said the Midnight Express.

Pirates will meet their cross-town rivals in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday evening.
