Johannesburg - Malawian international Josephy Kamwendo has tipped for 2013 CAF Champions League glory his former employers Orlando Pirates.

According to the supersport.com website, the Buccaneers go into the weekend’s second leg of the final in Egypt against Al Ahly having drawn 1-1 in the first leg last Saturday.

“As a Buccaneer I am really behind the guys. I know they will add that second star,” Kamwendo told SuperSport.com from Maputo, Mozambique where he plays for Liga Muculmana.

Having been released by Pirates three seasons ago, one would expect the deposed Flames captain to have hard feelings; not with the stylish midfielder.

“Look, I was part of that group for over three years and it is not a joke. My blood is still black and white,” Kamwendo explained on Saturday.

Pirates loaned out Kamwendo to Vasco da Gama in the 2010 season before he left for Malawi childhood club Mighty Wanderers, then Muculmana who have since won the Mocambola League championship.

So good is the performance of Kamwendo he has courted the attention of Congolese giants, TP Mazembe with a move likely this January transfer window.
