Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is unimpressed by the training facilities at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo, Egypt.
The former Bafana Bafana coach is currently with his squad preparing their CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg against African football giants Al Ahly.
The Brazilians arrived in the Egyptian capital on Tuesday and have been hard at work, and Mosimane was at a loss for words over the state of the pitch, where some Africa Cup of Nations games were played earlier this year.
"The pitch has deteriorated‚ but they gave us the best that was available," Mosimane told the media on Wednesday.
"What is strange is that it is not long that we had the Africa Cup of Nations in that stadium and I don’t know what is happening.
"I think maybe the stadium is overused but I expected the pitch to be in better condition.
"Training was not bad‚ we were well received and trained at Petro Sport Stadium and it is a venue where we have a little bit of history.
"That is the stadium where we played against Zamalek during the group stages and the Libyans a while back‚ so we are familiar with the venue," said Mosimane‚ who added that they have spent some time analysing Al Ahly.
The Brazilians will clash against Al Ahly on Saturday, February 29 at Cairo Stadium.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
