Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes his side will come up against a less complacent Al Ahly side this time around in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

The two teams have been pitted against each other in the quarter-finals for the second year in a row and Al Ahly will be seeking revenge for a humiliating 5-1 aggregate defeat on that occasion.

Despite finishing first in their group, the Brazilians could not avoid the 'team of the century' and most decorated club in CAF Champions League history with eight titles.

And Mosimane believes the Egyptians will not be taking his side as lightly this time around.

“Yeah, unbelievable draw, this looks like whatever Sundowns do with teams we follow the same teams again," the Masandawana mentor told FarPost.

“It’s what happened with WAC (Wydad Casablanca). We’ve been getting WAC all the time in our group.

“Now the story begins of Al Ahly now – the same as last year. Yeah, same teams, different games, different years with a different mentality – different moods.

“I believe that first Al Ahly did not know us and did not respect us, but after the result last year – we knocked them out in the quarterfinals, the mood is different. They’ll prepare more for us."

The winner of the match will face either Wydad Casablanca or Etoile du Sahel in the final.

The winner between Sundowns and Al Ahly will face the winner between Wydad and Etoile du Sahel.

In contrast to last year, the Brazilians will travel to Cairo for the first leg, scheduled for the beginning of February, with the second leg to be played at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
