Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has urged the club's fans to stay fully committed behind the team ahead of Wednesday's CAF Confederations Cup tie against Zimamoto FC.

The side are set to face the outfit from Zanzibar in a preliminary round tie at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, before the return leg on December 4.

However, confidence levels may be low as Chiefs have lost twice to fierce rivals Orlando Pirates inside a month after losing Saturday's Telkom Knockout semi-final 2-1 against the Sea Robbers at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Amakhosi are struggling in the league and have also exited two cup competitions in the form of the MTN8 as well as the TKO.

Nonetheless, Solinas believes fortunes can be improved and urged supporters to keep the faith ahead of the first leg tie with Zimamoto FC.

He told reporters: "I believe we can change the situation. Maybe we need time, but we can change it.

"We have our plan for the market. Me, I want to say to our supporters, please guys, don't abandon Kaizer Chiefs and continue believing in Kaizer Chiefs. I'm sure in the future Kaizer Chiefs will not disappoint our fans.

"We have our project to reinforce the team, to turn Kaizer Chiefs to be stronger. We need time. Me, I'll never give up. From now onwards I'll work hard to improve. Me, I work hard, guys. Me, every day I work 10 hours. Maybe it's not enough, maybe I'll have to work 11, 12 hours. But me I'll never give up. I want to improve, fighting, this is my spirit, this is my hope.

"Me, I take responsibility hey. Don't worry, I take responsibility. I put my face with the fans, with the media. This is my face, this is my responsibility. I'll continue to work hard for Kaizer Chiefs, for this badge, because this is a very big club. The best club in South Africa, one of the best on the African continent. Me, I will work hard."

Chiefs named a 24-man squad for the encounter with the most notable exclusions being striker Gustavo Paez and winger Bhongolethu Jayiya.
