Tembo: It's dangerous to write off Chiefs

Cape Town - Despite their lack of form, SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo remains wary of Kaizer Chiefs ahead of their MTN8 semi-final first-leg clash.

Amakhosi have picked up just one win in all competitions this season - a 3-0 MTN8 quarter-final win over Free State Stars.

However, Tembo feels that the Glamour Boys will always be a dangerous opponent.

“At the moment, Chiefs' strength is the fact that they haven't been getting the results coming to this game,” said Tembo.

“A lot of people are writing them off, which is dangerous, especially from our side. It's really important for us to prepare for a tough encounter against Chiefs."

Chiefs are the most widely-supported club in South Africa, so although SuperSport will have home-ground advantage on Sunday, they are likely to face a sea of opposition supporters.

However, Tembo has a plan to use this to his team's benefit.

“Chiefs' support can also be to our advantage if we frustrate them a little bit," he claimed.

“We'll try and turn the crowd against them because they are a little bit vulnerable at the moment.

“We'll try to take advantage of that.”

Sunday's clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium is set to kick off at 15:00, with the return leg set for FNB Stadium next Saturday.
