The Turkish club finally persuaded Tshabalala to part with Amakhosi after the midfielder spent 11 and a half years at Naturena, sealing his signature towards the end of the South African transfer window.

According to the 33-year-old, who rose to fame during the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a series of impressive performances for South Africa, his new club wanted him badly and the feeling was mutual.

"First time they wanted me, they tried by all means to bring me here and it never happened, but they never gave up," he said.

"Also, from my side, I wanted to come here. No-one forced me. I felt that I was needed here, and I felt that they wanted me to contribute to the club.

"For me, it's an honour to come here, and I'm looking forward to the future -- to contribute positively to the club and bring success.

"Obviously, it's not about me, it's about the team, but I'm looking forward to creating great memories."
